Workers in Singapore have emerged as the fastest adopters of artificial intelligence (AI) skills worldwide, according to LinkedIn’s Future of Work report. The study, encompassing data from 25 countries, revealed that Singapore achieved the highest “diffusion rate”, with 20 times more members adding AI skills to their profiles since January 2016. This is significantly higher than the global average of eight times. Finland, Ireland, India, and Canada follow closely as countries with high rates of AI skill diffusion.
The report attributes Singapore’s success to its robust digital infrastructure and intellectual property protection framework. Additionally, a thriving ecosystem of venture capital firms and angel investors provides crucial capital support for startups and businesses driving AI development and adoption within the country.
The Rise of Generative AI Skills
In 2022, LinkedIn observed significant growth in generative AI-related skills added to user profiles. These included question-answering (332% increase), classification, recommender systems, and other skills indicating the emergence of generative AI technologies. Notably, ChatGPT played a pivotal role in generating interest in generative AI over the past year.
However, concerns about job displacement due to generative AI’s ability to create text and images are growing. A Goldman Sachs report estimated that around 300 million jobs globally could be affected by automation and AI implementation. Analysing common occupations on its platform, LinkedIn found that approximately 45% of teachers’ skills could potentially be augmented by generative AI tools such as lesson planning or curriculum development.
While GAI technologies offer opportunities for professionals like teachers to focus on critical aspects of their work, human intervention remains crucial in areas such as classroom management and special education. The report emphasized the importance of “people skills” such as creativity, leadership, communication, and ethical decision-making in an evolving AI-powered workplace.
The Human Element in AI Transformation
As AI automation expands across industries, LinkedIn asserts that soft skills are becoming increasingly vital. In the United States, the most rapidly growing demanded skills since November 2022 include flexibility, professional ethics, social perceptiveness, and self-management.
Microsoft’s 2023 Work Trend Index underlines the essentiality of analytical judgment, flexibility, and emotional intelligence according to leaders. Despite the rise of generative AI tools empowering workers to generate responses automatically, humans retain ultimate control over content modification or rejection.
The ability to exercise judgment when leveraging AI capabilities over human capacities is crucial for determining optimal outcomes. Emotional intelligence also plays a pivotal role in making informed decisions about when to incorporate AI technology versus relying on human capabilities.

Google Cloud Expands Blockchain Support with 11 New Networks for BigQuery Public Datasets

Google is once again proving its commitment to supporting the future of technology. This time, it’s by significantly expanding blockchain support via its Google Cloud division. The tech giant has added 11 new networks to its BigQuery public datasets, enabling users to execute complex on-chain queries.
This bold move comes as a response to demands from blockchain foundations, Web3 analytics firms, developers and customers who desire a broader view across the crypto landscape. The new additions to this heavyweight list include Avalanche, Arbitrum, Cronos, Ethereum’s Görli testnet, Fantom, Near, Optimism, Polkadot, Polygon mainnet and Mumbai version plus Tron.
- To provide context: these additions simplify access to data on multiple blockchains without necessarily needing to operate nodes or maintain an indexer.
- Customers can now easily analyse the flow of assets between wallets and gauge which tokens are most popular among other things.
- In simpler terms: interacting with smart contracts just got even easier!
Besides community-managed datasets on BigQuery, Google is also crafting “first-party Google Cloud managed datasets” for extra features such as a managed Ethereum dataset offering a complete representation of this blockchain’s native data model. This curated database will allow more in-depth analyses on Ethereum-related transactions – handy for those interested in ERC20s or other token interactions!
The ultimate goal? To provide fast and reliable enterprise-grade results for their clients while simplifying how off-chain data is accessed on-chain. By doing so they hope to streamline customer processes by skipping node accesses for accessing blockchain info – essentially making getting your hands-on information as easy as grabbing your own data!
Looking back, BigQuery made its debut in 2018 with the intention of providing developers with open access to on-chain data for Bitcoin and Ethereum. This expansion is building on that foundation, which has since embraced other cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin Cash, Dash, Dogecoin, Ethereum Classic, Litecoin and Zcash; bringing the current supported network tally up to a whopping 19 networks!
The last piece of this exciting puzzle is Google Cloud’s ongoing provision of web3 infrastructure services like node hosting and validator operation management for several blockchains including Ethereum, Solana and Aptos. And who can forget their strategic Web3 partnership with Coinbase formed back in October? This alliance allowed select customers to pay for cloud services using cryptocurrencies such as Bitcoin – further simplifying the payment process for those operating in the Web3 space.
The clear takeaway here: Google continues deepening its blockchain support trenches at an exciting pace!

The realm of artificial intelligence (AI) has seen a significant leap forward, with the capability to generate text embedded directly within images becoming a reality. This cutting-edge technology is essentially transforming the way we perceive and use AI.
Imagine a situation where you no longer have to struggle with creating eye-catching graphics for your marketing campaign – you simply type in your requirements and an intelligent machine generates it for you. Incredible, isn’t it? This revolutionary concept is now coming to life, erasing the line between imagination and reality.
- This new development is not just an upgrade on previous versions—it’s a whole new ball game. The ease at which this technology can create readable text baked into images significantly outperforms any existing software on the market.
- No longer will designers be confined by inflexible graphic design tools or dependent on external applications to overlay text onto their designs. Everything can be achieved within one simple, streamlined process.
- This breakthrough doesn’t just stop with static images — dynamic content is also covered! Imagine having high-quality videos with captions automatically generated from scripts without any human intervention.
With its release, there’s been an avalanche of excitement among both tech-enthusiasts and professional graphic designers alike. Experts predict this is likely just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to such advanced applications of AI. As technology continues to evolve rapidly, we might soon witness even more astounding developments shaping our future digital landscape.
Surely, there are challenges ahead—such as perfecting language translation capabilities or recognising nuanced cultural references—but these hurdles seem inconsequential compared with the potential benefits. An era where image editing tasks become as easy as typing in a keyboard is on the horizon. Couple that with machine learning advancements, we may be inching closer to where AI can perfectly understand and replicate human creativity.
There’s no denying it: We’re witnessing an exciting moment in AI history, one that could fundamentally shift the way we interact with technology. The journey of AI has always been filled with surprises. Like watching evolution at hyper-speed, we’re seeing machines become increasingly capable of understanding and emulating human-like tasks. Luckily for us, we are living right in the heart of this transformation.
We should remain optimistic about what lies ahead while also maintaining a healthy scepticism, weighing up both the potential benefits and challenges this technological advancement may bring about. After all, it’s not every day that you get to witness a genuine game-changer in action. So let’s buckle up and enjoy the ride into the future!
